Midori (Japanese Dictionary) App Reviews

The app is quite nice, love the kanji stroke animation and various lookup features. Though I have not checked all the features yet, I can see that it will come in handy at times.

Is there a way to remove the SKIP function on the 1.8.6 release? I had the book years ago. Except for the vertical radial lookups, the horizontal and box lookups were/are confusing and absolutely un-useful. Having the extra function box on the top of Midori gets in the way of the stroke function which I use extensively. If you dont want to remove it, on the next release, can you move it to the far left so that I dont have to reach over it? Sorry, Mr. Halpern, otsukaresame, but your system isnt isnt useful (except for the vertical lookups). From a two-year user, I have rated Midori a five-star. Would revert if the SKIP function is removed.

Amazing app that I use on a daily basis. Couldnt live without it. Would be very nice to have iCloud syncing available as bookmarks are deleted with each update it seems. Please keep up the great work otherwise.

If you are a student for learning Japanese or if you just want to learn by yourself you have to use this program. You dont need any other software for vocabulary,translation and also learning Kanji. I have used many program and books but the best one is Midori for me. Thank you so much for made Midori for us.

I want to find my words by writing the word which i wrote at the "notes-メモ" section below. For example, when i find my word, i wrote the turkish meaning of it at the notes section. But, if i want to find it again later, i have to remember the word in japanese or in english. If i do not remember both jp and en, i can not find that word quickly. If u adjust the setting, i search the word which i wrote at the notes section, and find it. Thank u !

The best japanese dictionary Ive ever seen, absolutely must-have for everyone who wants to learn japanese or just translate japanese text which is impossible to copy (so its impossible to just copy-paste it to internet translators). If there is anything Ive would add, it would be: -Displaying favourite words as first in search results (its quite annoying to write them everytime when I need them) -hand written katakana support -fix some issues with finding words (for ex. Its impossible to find kanji for "exit" when I try to use kanji for "mountain" and "open box") -possibility to write words in kanji in translator (sometimes I want to translate all sentence, not only few words)

Its functionality is second to none, Midori really is the best iOS Japanese dictionary. I wish there were something like this for Mac.

Everything is nice. I like the 3.18 version. Was waiting for the improvement you have made. Really appreciate it. Could be better if possible to add engine of kanji recognition from Google via internet, it does it perfect even with wrong writing. And create switching button to recognize via internet or via its own engine. And spelling sentences comparing to "Imiwa" sounds less realistic, more like robot.

Awesome, stunning, fantastic, brilliant app. Its amazingly goregeous and fast. Its really useful for Japanese students like me. Its intuitive, in fact, even someone thats not English (like me) can use all its capabilities. Well, if it was in Italian, it would be better, but obviously this is not possible

Before it was good, now that they integrated the iOS 7 interface its just perfect ! :) Its worth it!

If youre studying japanese in a class or alone, this is a must-have app. It could be really helpful also if youre just travelling Japan. Worth the money 100%

After 8.0 iOS update The italian language was broken. Now all is write in Kanji... Help me!!!
